Our Third Grade Scholars here at HES are off to a great start on their journey to learn and grow together. In science, we established routines to stay safe during experiments, learned about being a true scientist taking meticulous notes and drawing accurate sketches of our observations. We began our study into seeds and the structures as they grow. Math commenced with learning about our math stories and connections. Then we moved quickly into addition and subtraction up to 1,000 and we are now concluding Unit 3 as we practice representing equal groups and understand the basics of multiplication and division. In social studies, our explorers have created maps of the classroom and have established their own constitutions as we integrate social studies, communities, and our first ELA unit with stories about participating in government. We look forward to a wonderful year ahead and all the adventures in learning we have planned.Â
